Welcome to Finding Abilities!
A single mother, a person with a disability, a cancer survivor, and a Catholic are just a few ways I show up in the world. And while each identity has some challenges, each has helped me to create opportunities and find abilities I never knew I had!
Finding Abilities is all about finding that ability within yourself that you’ve always had but needed the courage or training to allow it to shine. It is about stepping out of your comfort zone, trying new things, finding the ability to share a little part of yourself with the world. It is about learning to be OK with being different, being awkward, being awesome and sharing the process.
Welcome! I’m so glad you are here!
– About –

I am so excited to share ideas, experiences and even great safe and ethical products. I am a single mother, a person with a disability, a cancer survivor, a confused yet faith filled Catholic, a Beautycounter Senior Manager, a blogger and so much more!

Four years after I decided to adopt my beautiful daughter from Guatemala, I was diagnosed with CMT, a form of muscular dystrophy. As my body has changed, so has how I see and experience the world. I found myself wanting to express my new views and observations.
– Beautycounter –

Since my cancer diagnosis, I started paying attention to all of the toxic chemicals in my food and personal care products, so I revisited Beautycounter and took a deeper look at their product ingredients and mission statement. No chemicals of concern.
